About

Almes Roma B&B - Rome

Almes Roma B&B is a small, 2-star guest house on Via Augusto Aubry in Rome's Vaticano Prati district, with a guest rating of 8.9 from 36 reviews. It operates from an apartment building, so it feels more like a private home than a hotel, and it is smoke-free with private car parking on site. The surrounding Prati neighbourhood is residential and calm, with local shops, restaurants and a grocery store close by.

The rooms are straightforward but well kept: all three types are doubles with king-size beds, air conditioning, heating, flat-screen TVs and parquet flooring. Guests repeatedly note the same strengths — spotless rooms, quiet nights, a roughly ten-minute walk to the Vatican, and owners who go well beyond the usual check-in.

  • Private parking on site — In a city where parking is often a hassle, this B&B has private car parking on the premises and guests found the arrangements convenient.

“We had a wonderful stay here. The B&B sits in the upscale Prati residential area, close to the Vatican and well connected by Metro and bus. The owners welcomed us from the moment we arrived, arranged a reasonably priced airport pickup, advised us on local transport and restaurants and even offered umbrellas in case of rain. Our room was very spacious, spotless and had a separate sitting area, a large bathroom, effective air conditioning and a mini fridge stocked with water, juice and snacks. They stayed in touch by text and email throughout to check we were happy. Given how expensive Roman hotels can be, this was excellent value — a lovely option in the Eternal City.”

“Being so close to the station and the main sights was the best part.”

“The welcome was first-rate. The room was nicely appointed, sorting out parking was very straightforward, and the restaurant recommendations could not have been better.”

“This place was great. It is in an apartment building, so it took us a moment to find, but it was well worth it. The Prati neighbourhood has plenty of local shops, a good grocery store about a block away and a great coffee place across the street. Every restaurant we tried was local, with local prices — a nice change from the pricier tourist areas. It is only about a ten-minute walk to the Vatican. The rooms were excellent, and the place was so clean you could eat off the floor. The people running it were incredibly welcoming, and it felt like staying with friends. It was quiet at night too. We are already planning to return in March and will stay here again.”

“A great location near the Vatican, easy to reach by public transport and set in a pleasant residential area away from the tourist crowds.”

“Good value for money. Hotels in central Rome can be very expensive, so you give up a little on location but gain a spacious, clean and safe room. It feels more like an apartment, but the owners are close by and quick to respond whenever you need help. There are great local restaurants nearby, and the neighbourhood feels very safe.”
